Their morning news show is pretty partisan. I'm the same kind of partisan, so it's not bad, but I recognize the bias.

I call such a person a "scientist."

Yup.

News or opinion is a bullshit distinction to make. Your bias is in the facts you choose to report, at the very least. Nobody should kid themselves about "noble objective journalism" or claim that "real journalism" is unbiased. That's a bunch of crap. The 1st Amendment isn't about THE truth. It's about YOUR truth. And it's up to the citizens to decide whose version of the truth is closer to reality. And it changes all the time. A lot of it's half-and-half. Jimmy Dore is a dumb-ass on economic policy and a genius on foreign policy.

Now, to the extent that a channel/reporter gets it closer to the truth than others, you should gravitate to them, but never kid yourself that there's not an axe being ground. Even "trying to be fair," a person has their own misconceptions/blind spots. And that's OK. Just let it all hang out and let others try to tear you to shreds. That's how they get the best mathematicians out of solid graduate programs. You go to the board and your peers do everything possible to destroy your proof. You've gotta have a thick skin and invite criticism. And in the final analysis, that's how we get as close to the truth as possible, generally.

If he doesn't explain it, it will take on an "inside joke" they're not in on to his new viewers.
