  1. The so-called "left" hasn't been "left" since it decided socialism was a good idea. Socialism is government paternalism. Government paternalism is inevitably authoritarian. Authoritarianism is reactionary. Reactionaryism is regressive right. The so-called left took a hard turn to the right when it equated its principles of tolerance and compassion with government paternalism. The answer to robber barons isn't government force. It's public awareness, boycotts, and, believe it or not, cancel culture. You want the big corporations to play nice, don't put the government over them. That's how they get on top of government and why government becomes increasingly authoritarian in favor of the fat cats. If you strip the government of that manufactured authority, free flow of information on a free Internet would do all the policing we'd ever want or need.
