  1. BOORISHNESS IS AN AMERICAN TRADITION. WE'VE BEEN OFFENDING THE ARISTOCRATS AND OTHER ELITES SINCE WE DARED TO RULE OURSELVES, RATHER THAN BEND THE KNEE TO THE NOBILITY. Trouble is, we have our own aristocracy on the rise, and it's a toxic mixture of super-rich and the "experts" and "technocrats" who do their bidding. The original aristocracy wasn't much different. Your great-great-grand-daddy killed a lot of people on the battlefield 100 years ago and that makes you a blue blood, who's somehow superior by birthright. The so-called "nobility" were merely the descendants of people who were good at killing in some bygone time.
