  1. I can remember when we didn't trust Marxist dictatorships. Must be getting old. I don't think the flu is worse, but it's still killed a lot more people than the Wuhan variety. And there have been flu epidemics that killed as many (by proportion) as the worst-case Wuhan scenarios. Hopefully, by common-sense distancing and rapid research on treatments, we'll get a handle on this Wuhan thing, which is apparently VERY contagious, and is deadly to some people.

  2. 56,000 cremations in Wuhan in 4th quarter of 2019 seems like a huge number, until you figure out that the previous year - a normal year - there were over 54,000 cremations in the same quarter. This is a bump of about 1500 cremations, but not as significant as people are making it. But, really, who knows/believes any of the numbers coming out of Communist China?
