  1. Brie Larson would've been fine in the movie with better writing. I don't think her off-screen comments and attitudes moved the needle, much. It didn't help that she antagonized half of the audience with her interviews and public appearances, but those she said antagonistic things toward mostly don't know and couldn't care less what an actress says when she's not acting. The movies failed because of The Message and the hackneyed writing that emerged, trying to squeeze maximum diversity and scorn towards masculine men into every flick.
