  1. Why do all the history readers say "thee" instead of "thuh" before consonants. You only do the long 'e' in "the" before a vowel. I hear this all the time when history channels are reading from written scripts. It's like they think the long 'e' sounds smarter. Hard to get into videos, sometimes, because of this affectation.
