  1.  @toi4154  you see those comments because they're ruthlessly suppressed everywhere else. You're only hearing from the most pissed off, most acting-out people. Projecting those traits onto everyone is a big problem. Twitter or YT comment sections are not representative of the general public. What makes me laugh is when liberals complain about the hate being spewed their way, when conservatives have been getting hate since before the Internet, and just accept that some people are assholes, and their situation is not at all unique. That's why YouTube really needs to update its platform, and allow you to block the assholes. But they don't. They'd prefer you to report 'bad people' to authorities and have those people cancelled, entirely.

You see the power of cancel culture and you still are blithely unaware that the government IS the corporations' most effective shield and enabler. We cancel anyone and everything, but somehow, nobody cancels Monsanto or NIKE. In free-market capitalism, public shame is more powerful than any government agency dreamt of being, when it comes to forcing big companies to behave themselves. Reputation > fear of sanctions from government. "Too big to fail" is a thing that wouldn't exist, if government weren't always ready to hand to beat back public disapproval and divert our attention from what's really going on. EVERY time you THINK you're sticking it to the robber barons, they're crying all the way to the BANK, because all your "new regulations" did was ensure that somebody with a kinder, more enlightened approach never gets past 1st base. That regulation you THINK is reigning-in big corporations is just one more barrier that smaller competitors can't clear.

As a person who appreciates real diversity, I think people who think a little differently than others are important for seeing through some of the stupidities in which "normies" participate. I'm not autistic, but because of unique hardships, there's small shit that I see people freak out about and they think I'm crass or unfeeling, when I mainly reserve my concern for things that actually matter. Social conventions that are silly. People who don't conform on appearances, but are just as normal as the rest of us. I dunno. Like "OMG, his socks don't match!" And all I can think is "He'd look more stupid just wearing one."

Heaven forbid I should learn something from someone different from me. Of course, you can't learn from people just like yourself, because you already know everything they know, amirite?   28. They KNOW they're right about EVERYthing, and so any dissent is obviously ignorant hate speech, because we ALL know that people mustn't hear anything "bad" for their own protection. These are people who know anything not in the Washington Post or New York Times or CNN must be false, because only THOSE outlets are reliable and will "protect them" from wrong think. These are people who prop up the corporatocracy while pretending to hate it. SMH. They get their facts from legacy media that are owned by a handful of MEGACORPORATIONS and they dismiss anything the megacorporations don't approve as "conspiracy theories." It's very sad. Many are pretty smart people, in some ways. But they don't ask themselves why it's OK to go to the casino, but not OK to go to church. Or why it's OK to go to WalMart and other big-box chains, but the corner bodega is closed until further notice. It's OK to protest AGAINST Trump and the police, but it's NOT OK to demonstrate for anything of which they disapprove, because "these idiots are literally going to get us all killed." THEIR protest is "more important" than concerns about contagion. Or the story about the crazy people on the beach without masks, while the whole crew BEHIND the CNN camera aren't wearing masks, either. The hits just keep coming. I especially loved Obama's eulogy, in a packed church, insisting that universal mail-in ballots were ESSENTIAL, because of the virus. That same church probably limited attendance to a nobody's funeral to 10 people. But if there's an opportunity to score points for the DNC, well, then it's just too important to worry about the virus.

  35.  @Princeomishore  : It's the main sub-plot of every cop show of the last 10 years. Yes, he's working hard this week. But he also gets lots of time off, after, and the wife and family understand, and don't make it all dramatic because he misses X and Y, unless they're drama queens. They learn to enjoy the time they DO have, and they get about as much of that as any other family.

  39. I've seen his affiliations. And Trump is about the only big name who didn't get sucked in. He was the only guy who went to bat for the girls down in Florida and he kicked Epstein out of Mar-A-Lago for trying to put the moves on an underage girl. Epstein would STiLL be operating the Lolita Express if Hillary had been elected. All swept under the rug. And Trump has to fight half of his administration, because the careerists are all covering for their former bosses. Trump's far from perfect, but at least his affairs were with ADULTS and he treated them like princesses, unlike Bill Clinton.

  40. Rule in our house was whoever cooks dinner gets a pass on the dishes. This worked out very badly, after my little sister decided to be a chef. Then I became a man, cooking for myself, and somehow the kitchen kind of gets cleaned up as I go. Funny how that works.

  41. The last time (in the '90s) I sat through a graduation, I think 75% of the degrees were in "communications." I wasted all that time on earth science and mathematics. I didn't even know there was a degree in communications and I still don't really know what it is.

If they're going to get a pass on account of being a neutral platform, then they need to be a neutral platform. If they're not a neutral platform, and nobody but Congress believes that they ARE, then they're subject to the same rules applying to any publisher. They can't have it both ways. Of course, you're all about "private company can do what it wants" when that private company is biased in your political direction. Me, personally, I would like it to be no-holds-barred, and if you don't like what's being said, BLOCK IT, and get on with your damn life. But liberals love to appeal to authority. YouTube sucks because there's no block feature. You can tell on somebody to Mommy YouTube, but you can't just pull the plug on somebody and be free of them forevermore. But you CAN get Mommy YouTube to shut them UP forevermore. People like you seem to prefer appealing to authority to de-platform people you don't like. In a free and open forum, Nazis get zero traction. In a censorious setting, they actually have a legitimate gripe, and win recruits. you people are your own worst enemies.
