  1. That's what'll happen. But the Mom & Pop's can't afford to close down and they can't make enough from selling the place to move somewhere else. They're trapped in the madness with nowhere to go. Maybe convert the bodega to a strip joint? But even that's tough in a lot of cities/states, because of the expense of obtaining a liquor license.
