Yeah. My dad, who was a sergeant, was all about action and maneuver. My uncle, who ended up a colonel, was all about dry socks and good food for the men.

@matthewbadley5063 I used to war-game Barbarossa, and pretty much the only reason it even looks for a moment like Germany has a chance is the fact that the Soviets, like the Germans, are socialists, so their logistics are terrible, too, even in their own country. They've got bad-ass armored and infantry units East of the Urals, but it takes 6 months from the time they're called up to the time they arrive outside of Moscow. Basically from June to Christmas, and that's about the time it became clear the 3rd Reich didn't have enough horses, so to speak.
