@rainbowstalin594 I always thought the strategic value of the night bombings was exaggerated. But I didn't know until TIK that the Germans had to deprive the Eastern Front of 88s because of the bombings. Night bombings kept the RAF losses down, but it appears to have diverted a lot of firepower away from the bigger theater to the East, despite the fact that the night bombings did not appear to very significantly or directly degrade German industrial capacity. Daylight bombings did direct damage to both sides but the RAF couldn't afford the losses.

@ALEXRUSSIANOCCUPANT The Americans joined in because Pearl Harbor galvanized the American Public. We were 100% behind the war effort after Pearl Harbor, which wasn't until December, 1941. The Russians were a lot more worried about the Japanese until the U.s. made it a fight for the Pacific, but the Red Army was horribly out of position to repulse the Germans in June, 1941.
