  1. Considering the work he does, learning German and Russian would be pretty important. Languages are part of any PhD program. You need to keep up on articles published in other languages if you're staying current in any field. Standards have slipped in recent years. My school required 2 foreign languages for a doctorate before my time. They relaxed it to one language shortly before I was a candidate. In my field (mathematical analysis (super-calculus)), a lot of the work being published at the time was in Russian and German.

  2. It's still socialism if private businesses are controlled by the state. Socialists can never admit Hitler was a socialist.

  3.  @bassamalfayeed1384  So-called "left" IS "right wing reactionary," since they seek to grow the power of the state and drag us back to the days of absolute state power. ACTUAL liberals detest big government and all forms of socialism, including its fascist form, which is very close to how the USA is run, today. What good is private ownership if everything you can do with your property is subject to government regulators?
