@eli_7295 Teachers learn HOW to teach, but don't necessarily know anything about the subjects they teach. That's why they drill and kill and give lots of pointless exercises. In my experience, the people who couldn't cut it in their program of study end up getting a teaching certificate. They go from being the weakest student in college to an authority figure in public school. I graduated with a double major in math and geology. In both programs, the ones who couldn't earn above a 'C' ended up getting teaching certificates. That 'C' in Organic Chemistry made them the school expert in chemistry when they reached their job as a teacher in high school. I saw this happen a bunch of times and I felt sorry for the kids who went to those schools, because I knew they were getting a mediocre-at-best teacher.
