The federal government has no business passing a Communications Decency Act in the first place. The 1st Amendment is pretty clear on this. These platforms need to be platforms. If you find some content objectionable, then buy a good filter or don't go to those channels. We have plenty of laws against child pornography, incitement of violence, etc. I'm not a big fan of writing new law, in general, but a solid, legal definition of online harassment would be nice. But even that is in the eye of the beholder. One person's shredding of another person's arguments is another person's hateful and harassing speech. I'm more interested in learning more about how VPNs work, and what the best ones are. I'm more interested in platforms that don't stop people from talking, platforms that give everybody an "I'm done listein' ta this jerk" button. I think they limit those features to foster an appeal-to-authority mind-set. You can't just handle your own trolls. You have to TELL on them! You SHOULD have a one-click "Block this handle" feature, and a lot of the tension in comments and chat will subside.
