Pro football has always been big on social responsibility and the players and teams giving back to the community. They just went all-in backing the wrong causes the wrong way and for the wrong reasons.
Frankly, I'm not a big fan of the flag-waving and national anthem before every game. The NFL was all-in ob the Iraq War(s). Our nation is about principles of liberty and anti-imperialism, but the imperialists hijacked the flag a long time ago. Heck, the "National Anthem" itself was penned in 1814, memorializing the bombardment of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812. The melody was stolen from a "pop song" of the day!
I think it'd be great to have a day or days of remembrance for fallen heroes, but some traditions just seem to feed a very anti-American military industrial complex, ginning up support for wars and other meddling, abroad.
If BLM were about ending the War on Drugs, that'd be something I could get behind. That's the main reason - a PROFIT reason - there are drug gangs terrorizing our cities, and the main reason law enforcement is so off-the-hook.
But BLM's a bunch of commies with a postmodern critical-race-theory agenda that's total garbage and goes against the MERITOCRACY that the NFL is supposed to be.
The wokeness makes the NFL hard to watch, and I've been a fan for over 50 years. What REALLY makes it hard to watch are all the blown calls by the officials. I don't see why a woman could NOT join the ranks of the field officials, but the one that worked the last SuperBowl was pretty bad. I'm pretty sure the Bucs had the antidote to the Chiefs in that game, especially a Chiefs team without its two starting offensive tackles. But the Brady Bias was on full display throughout the first half of that game. It was BAD.
