There's something to be said for performing a daily news crawl for his viewers. Paul Harvey used to do the same thing. But he'd do 5 or 10 stories in 5 or 10 minutes, bringing key stories to your attention that you wouldn't get from MSM. Tim'll have 2 or 3 headlines and it'll always take 22 minutes. I think 22 minutes (and 11 minutes) are magic numbers, for some reason. I think being just over 10 minutes or just over 20 minutes maximizes the visibility and advertising.
I used to really like the articles he found, and I'd just stop the video or mute the sound when I had the body of the article on screen and read the article. It wasn't ideal, but the commentary was low-info fluff most of the time. It was an inefficient way to read part or all of the article, but it was more efficient than finding the articles, myself.
Tim's still learning. He pops out with some scholarship/knowledge, here and there. He still provides a service, but he's not doing any writing. He's just winging it. He's got a fair gift for gab, but I'm starting to trend towards people like Gothix and Matt Christiansen, because they CRAFT a video and they clearly do a lot of writing and editing of their content, so there's not 1 second of wasted time. Not the obligatory 3 minutes of fresh content and 19 minutes of stuttering extemporizing (making shit up as you go) to get to 22 minutes.
I've been supporting him after listening for free for a long time. I'll be cutting him off in a month or three, because I'll feel like I've paid him for what I took. I'd keep paying him if I thought he was actually going to organize some kind of guerrilla on-the-ground reporting from around the country, but it just looks like the money's for Tim and not something bigger, something world-changing. And just like men and women who can't talk for more than 15 seconds without playing with their hair (Tuck that shit behind your ear or something!), he's always fussing with his beanie.
Part of his appeal is the whole "Stoners sitting around arguing politics" schtick, which reminds me a lot of my high school and college days, arguing with my best friend, who was left-of-center, while I was a libertarian who thought he was a conservative. The discussions they have are very similar to some that we had back in the '80s, only it's 40 years later, and I've learned a lot since then, so they go over a lot of old ground. I still sort of want to support that, but it's growing old, because I'm old, and the ignorance is too great for the egos involved.
Bottom line: Everything Tim does every day is worth 10-15 minutes of my time, but he insists on taking over an hour of my time to deliver it.
