  1. There is built-in bias in all of us. It's in our genetic code to naturally be closer to those who look most like ourselves. It's a survival mechanism dating back to pre-history, when a monkey who didn't look like you was either on the menu or an enemy or both. Recognizing this one kernel of truth is the justification for a lot of crazy stuff. It's kind of like Christianity went wrong when IT got its hands on power. Jesus says he's the only way to eternal salvation and so using force to convert neighboring pagan nations was for their own good, and entirely justified, because we all know the end justifies the means. This is the same shit, just a different century and a different cause. But the same kind of end-justifies-the-means thinking. Same with eco-terrorists, etc. Intersectionality starts out with the reasonable premise that everybody's the intersection of all their heritage, genetics and life experiences. From that reasonable premise, they then unreasonably teach people that their lived experience is more important than facts and evidence.

  2. Those teachers are true believers, with very few exceptions. Don't underestimate the power of faith. The Romans did that and the Christians took over.
