Isaac Asimov described a techno-dystopia in which people all lived essentially alone, with their every need and desire provided by "humaniform robots," as he called them in the early 1950s. It was a human colony on a planet called "Solaria." They had god-like powers, but were slowly going extinct, because physical contact between individuals virtually ceased. Wait a minute. He wrote "Foundation and Earth" in the '80s, I think. He built the Foundation trilogy in the '50s, and wrote later books due to public demand and publisher pressure and insane money.

I would think a fair number of perverts. High proportion of creeps, I would think. Maybe a few fathers wanting to see what they're daughters are seeing, before they slap the parent controls on in horror and to their daughters' horror.

@Double_Vision Who are "They?" (S'pose I could look it up, now that you told me it's being made (for which I thank you)). At this point, I ASSUME woke until proven otherwise. I'm fringe Fandom Menace, so if it's woke, my guys (like Nerdrotic) will save me from wasting money on it. With CGI, streaming video, and HUGE audience demand for good film, this SHOULD be a GOLDEN AGE of cinema. Maybe we'll see some co-ops and partnerships to make longer-form content that audiences want, but Hollywood can't or won't provide. It's sad, because the best creators don't have the big bucks behind them. Maybe more of a crowd-funding approach would be the way to go.

@ZeroOmega-vg8nq Maybe those hotties are experienced enough to know what they want from a man in the sack, and you're not giving it to them. Still, I have been close to the deed, and stopped getting signals from the woman that she wanted the next step. Hard to explain. Only happened once, and it was with a woman I'd admired from afar for some time, but only ran into her the one time unattached at a bar.

@ZeroOmega-vg8nq No. It was just a strange hookup with somebody I had a crush on and saw across the room at some parties. Young and stupid days. This just made me think of that. Don't know what I'm projecting. Apparently something weird.

@arizona_anime_fan The way I look at it, one man's simp is another man's predator. I think people have it all wrong when it comes to online simps. It takes almost zero effort to simp. You can simp on 100, 200, 1000 different women, with EASE. People talk about a guy getting rejected 90% of the time. If he was a big cat, he'd be the fattest cat in the wild! All he's gotta do is simp 10 times and probably hook up 1 time? That 90% rejection rate is NOTHING. Big cat might take 20 runs at deer over a 2-day span, but it just needs to kill ONE and it's fed for the week. It's a mathematics of failure that has kept the cat species alive for millions of years.

@Bolgavets : Yeah. On the other hand, I think they'll come out of it, most of them, the wiser. Wait 'til THIS generation's kids have kids. You want to talk over-protective? LOL! They'll demand - and undoubtedly get - really good filtering software. They're gonna eventually have to give up on filtering content on the supply side, and kids will only be able to access what their parents allow them to access. We'll be a lot smarter about using the Internet - especially locally - in another 5 or 10 years. Most of our ills are cultural, but we're new enough to Interwebz to look to "leaders" for top-down solutions. We're in the process, now, of growing out of that mindset, as the ineptitude, greed and fecklessness of our "leaders" has never been more apparent.
