@yesfredfredburger8008 Yes, because kids don't play outside with the neighbor kids any more, amirite? The socialization they get at school is all about conforming to the cool kids and learning to be a docile factory worker.

It's never been easier or cheaper to homeschool, with all the online tools that are available. Now parents need to figure out who's gonna baby-sit their kids. I think couples should plan on one parent being home, full-time: whoever makes less money. Most don't plan, properly, before starting families and they're INSTANTLY dependent on the government for their kids' education.

SOHCAHTOA Sine = opposite over hypotenuse Cosine = adjacent over hypotenuse Tangent = opposite over adjacent It's a mnemonic. I'm old enough to remember "Laugh-In" and "sock-uh-toe-uh" reminds me of the "Sock-it-to-me" bit, so I do a few "Sock-it-to-me, sock-it-to-me, sock-it-to-me"s and then a couple sohocatoa's to kind of inspire the lesson. Math teachers are supposed to be a little corny. Anything to make the lesson stick. But if you're still using sohcahtoa after the first week of right-angle trigonometry, you're not learning it very well.

These are among the better and brighter kids in high school, if they're learning trig. They're way more sophisticated than this teacher is, probably. Most students show up at college without ANY trig, including the ones planning to be engineers. And the college is supposed to make them engineers in 4 years, when future engineers should come into college ready for calculus. That doesn't mean they can't do it. But they're already a year behind when they show up.
