Only thing I disagree with is that PBS was ever truly objective. It did have some shows that were at least nominally conservative, but it was still burdened by generally accepted "facts" churned out by the permanent government. Thinking back to the '80s, the estimates of the military - especially naval - capabilities of the USSR were routinely exaggerated by a factor of 10. A whole order of magnitude off, while the permanent government's expansion continued under administrations run by either party.
