@egosumhomovespertilionem Yes. They're lunatics. Or maybe they're just in a childlike state of arrested development. All of economics is trade-offs. You can't just wave a magic wand (as Obama loved to say), change one major input, and not expect there to be major consequences. But for "policy makers," the enormous drawbacks of their one-variable prescriptions are just an excuse for them to come in with just as thoughtless solutions to problems they created. Health care? Wrecked by government intervention. Solution? More government programs (that will only wreck it more). Foreign policy? Wrecked by foreign meddling. Solution? More regime-change foreign policy. Poverty? More dependence on the state than ever before in history. Cascading errors by people who are so "smart," they're stupid.
