  1. The amount to which the USA has been subsidizing Europe goes way beyond what you're saying. We've been protecting European powers' colonial holdings for decades, as well. A lot of what we fought for since WW II was the economic interests of the EU and UK, keeping a lid on the cost of natural (and other) resources they import.

  2. The EU's like that Broccoli-headed kid who goes around harassing people with a giant body guard in tow. Can't remember his name. He's very forgettable as far as personality, but he's been all over YouTube. Anyway, they've had the USA as their body guard since 1917, and suddenly, their body guard is gone, and reality's sinking in. They are at least an order of magnitude smaller than needed to carry out any of their threats, and even the economic sanctions are hurting them more than Russia!
