  1. The extraordinary and unconstitutional powers the government has assigned to itself are too alluring to the party in power. The "loyal opposition" will rail against the abuse of powers, the corruption, and the weaponization of federal agencies, but the minute they become the majority party, they LOVE the power. They REVEL in the power. You can't elect someone who's seeking power and expect they will ever voluntarily give those powers up when they have the power to do so. Ronald Reagan was the first bait-and-switch in my lifetime. Obama was the second.
