@perssontm1628 "Either charge me or let me go."

Weird thing is, if you're honest and ethical, it's an easy decision to do the right thing.

I've heard of places where they'll try to get a young cop to take money, and if they don't, their careers are over and/or their lives are in danger. One ex-cop said that was how he ended up in corrections. He wouldn't take money.

Man. That last story. Who knows what other heinous crimes that cop had on his back trail?

For all I know, he played it that way to get her off the street and out of the arresting officers' custody as quickly as possible, and did get all charges dropped by the next morning. He may just be really slick, and know this is how to play it in front of the arresting officers, knowing he's going to go over their heads and have her out by morning. That's how a real operator would do it. No attempts to bully them or throw his weight around in front of witnesses. Just a quiet phone call to the judge he owns or the sheriff he owns.

It depends on what you're holdin'. If it's a murder weapon with your fingerprints on it, or enough drugs to put you away for 20 years, or something else that's really bad, running might give you a chance to get rid of it. Resisting and fleeing aren't the worst charges someone might have against them.

"If he's not OK, that's a lot worse for me." Her first, second, and last thought was of herself.

"I'm not going to tell you again!" Proceeds to tell her again.
