  1. Even if you believe the climate fear mongers, the proposals they are making are mostly counterproductive. Many of the things people could and would do are against the law or the EPA hasn't caught up, yet, etc. We're not getting to a cleaner planet by following the recommendations of the political class for the political class. It's going to come from new ways of building homes that heat and cool themselves, new kinds of vehicles that are more efficient, better land and water management, etc. But the government, itself, is the biggest obstacle to a real, bottom-up (instead of top-down) (r)evolution in sustainable living. The government has a very few things it pushes to the exclusion of all other solutions. Their solutions require massive strip-mining and a simultaneous de-industrialization when we NEED that industry to support all the myriad of solutions there are and will be in the future. But they suck up all the resources for the one or two solutions that make well-positioned billionaires richer and leave everyone else poorer.

  2. If they believed in climate change, they wouldn't be buying beachfront property. If they cared about climate change, they wouldn't be flying around the globe in private jets to lecture us on climate change. If Al Gore believes in climate change, why does he have the carbon footprint of a small city?
