  1. I see it as a math teacher. They WANT to get it right, but nobody bothered to train them, properly, so it falls to me. It's a lot of work. The first month of classes, I'm grading papers overtime, giving them the feedback no one ever gave them, before. Their previous teachers just wanted to give them a passing grade and ingratiate themselves with their students. The kids know they're being patronized. They thrive when they're given challenging tasks and assessed fairly and thoroughly for their performance. Nobody ever showed them how to learn. All their teachers, who are all "education experts" just wanted to pass everybody with as little work as possible.
