  1. How do commercial mortgage-backed securities cause any of this? All you're demonstrating, here, is that mortgage-backed securities with exposure in NYC are probably a bad investment, unless you're getting in at rock-bottom. The big money'll be pouring in, eventually, but not until the bubble finally pops. It hasn't popped, yet. Rents and prices still haven't come down commensurate with actual value.
