  1.  @justatiger6268  Greenwald's still a liberty-and-economics illiterate, as a big-government progressive. He's like Jimmy Dore, bringing receipts on the ineptitude and even malevolence of federal agencies, and in the same breath say the government should run everything. All we need is to find Mr. Goodbar to give all the power to. That's why Russell Brand, who started out progressive, but now beats the drums for de-centralization. Letting the feds run ANYthing is putting all eggs in one basket, and leaves the entire nation vulnerable to the bad decisions of a handful of people at the very top. Leave everything other than national defense up to the states, and then watch the defense budget and the military like hawks. If our country was "run right," Congress would meet for a couple weeks and go home. There really shouldn't be that much on the federal government's plate. National security, tariffs and excise taxes, and that's about it. Only the federal government can deficit-spend for decades on end, keeping promises it really never should have made in the first place. We need to devolve federal powers and responsibilities to the states, and for the federal government to stick to the small list of responsibilities granted to it in the constitution. Want socialized medicine? Prove that it works on the community level. See what that looks like. Maybe a state will experiment with it. If it gets it right/better than other states, maybe other states will adopt it. Ramming one policy down the throats of all 50 states is stupid.

  2. Dad used to call it "Beating the drums" when mass media and government would ally themselves to push another crazy agenda. We're in a transition period between legacy media manufacturing consent like it has for the last 80 years and the death of legacy media. In this transition period, even though legacy media has been utterly discredited, it still has momentum and the trappings of legitimacy, which is all the federal government needs to go ahead with whatever the hell it wants, and pretend it's doing the will of the people. Still very dangerous times. Old systems of control are crumbling, and the erstwhile controllers aren't giving up without a fight, and these are people who live ABOVE the consequences of their policies. This presents the grave danger that people at the top will burn it all down before relinquishing that control. Look around you. Look at the de-industrialization of the West and the crushing national debt. We're already burning. Look at the insane ideologies springing up like new religions.
