  2. Socialism is authoritarian. Not liberal. Not "left." It's just a new brand name for Divine Right of Kings. "I will take care of you. You will obey." It's not "new" or "forward-thinking." It's the same old aristocratic forms re-emerging under new labels and new management. It's regressive. True liberals understand that liberty and limited government go hand in hand. Fake, modern liberals make all the same kinds of arguments that the old monarchists made, when uppity commoners said "We're not going to stand for this any longer."
