  1. Russia doesn't have a monopoly on precision-guided weapons. As the number of long-range missile strikes increases. Russia may be forced to accelerate the pace, rather than standing back with a sword for Ukrainians to thrust themselves upon. These infrastructure strikes from a distance raise the stakes for the Russians. I think the escalation will compel the Russians to push the front lines of the security zone forward much more rapidly.

  2. Why rush it, when the EU/NATO have been cutting their own economic and military throats for years. I think Russia waited until it was READY, while the West has systematically made itself LESS ready. Western economies are on the brink of another Great Depression.

  3. Indians side with India. That means continuing friendly trade relations with Russia. I don't think it means siding with Russia in a general war. But Russia's been a good friend to India, and Indians are rightfully skeptical of the West, especially since the massive failures of their authoritarian COVID response.
