  1. I think killer whales hunt baleen whales. Killers will take on anything. Still, I never heard of Levyatan. That's pretty cool stuff.

  2. I think they may've been solo hunters, as are sperm whales of today. Teamwork by killer whales might be why the Levyatans are gone. Killers will hunt sperm whales, but their hunting grounds don't overlap that much. I imagine another whale-hunter species would run afoul of killer whales more often. But sperm whales will never be in direct competition with killer whales, because they're hunting squid at great depths. Killer whales can definitely hunt sperm whales if they catch a mother and calf too close to shore. I think they're fairly immune to killer whales in the deep ocean.
