So you're saying TESLA's as bad as all the other automakers, just in a different way. There's no reason a new truck should cost $80,000. But the industry-government 'partnership' has them building junk we don't want, with features we don't want, at a price we can't afford. 80 years ago, we'd've called the American system of automaking fascist. Same for medical care. Same for agriculture. The more the government intervenes, the more tenuous the connection between customers and producers. In a free market, price and actual value never diverge significantly.

They all look the same and cost the same because the government has imposed such strict - and senseless - controls, that they have little choice. There is no basic, low-cost, compact pickup truck out there. Mid-sized or bigger. Why? To "save the planet," supposedly.
