  1. The chickens are finally coming home to roost in the USA, as border regions are shipping the illegals to the northern blue cities whence these policies originate, and now all of a sudden maybe open borders is not such a good idea.

  2. Let's not forget that these immigrant waves and the open border policies are a sort of karma for all the refugees WE CREATE with our wars around the world. It's part karma. Part guilt. With a healthy admixture of human and drug trafficking. Add a willing populace who've been conditioned to believe the government is made of money, et voila.

  3. Short-term trouble. Long-term, it's all just grist for the melting pot, so long as they follow the law and the law remains just. Of course, the atheists welcoming them in don't breed as fast as the more conservative, religious types they're bringing in, so the forward-thinking liberals will slowly go extinct.
