  1. Yeah, I learned about BLM land as a rock hound. I feel like the organized camp grounds with restrooms and hookups and such are for when you get older. But if you're more self-sufficient, primitive camping/boondocking in National Forest and BLM land is where it's at. It totally changes your approach to road trips out West, because you don't have to do a ton of planning to be CLOSE to an access point, so you kinda start lookin' for 'em when the Sun starts gettin' low in the sky. I used to love that in my younger days.
