  1. It is between left and right, be we've lost the thread of what the terms mean. The so-called "left" is basically a conservative establishment, with innumerable sacred cows that it defends at all cost. People think socialism is left. It's actually just far right, re-branded. The state will care for you and in return, you will obey, unquestioningly. That's a very old, feudal model. The "far right" are mostly true liberals, believers in liberty and limited government.
