  2. Trump's been unfairly spied on and smeared. Nevertheless, I don't think public officials should be given any special immunity of any kind that is not afforded to ordinary citizens. There is nothing in the law granting presidents immunity. All there is is a "finding" at the Dept. of Justice, where top brass basically decided many years ago that they weren't going to go after their boss. $o, presidential immunity - just like "qualified immunity" for cops - needs to be abolished by Congress. If they take Trump down, it will be open season on presidents who have always enjoyed a great deal of immunity, in collusion with news media. While I think that the establishment has abused its powers to go after Trump. On the other hand, I like the fact that they're not treating presidents like they're royalty. I think public officials need to be - and be seen as - foremost respecters of the law.
