Nice piece of history, reminiscent of Alfred's war against the Danes for England, three centuries before. But Alfred was lucky to field a few thousand warriors. The Mongols came at Hungary with 10s of thousands.

@justcharacter2098 The Prussians got very good, very fast, because of Napoleon. And his marshals followed his tactics by rote, rather than adjusting to the situations at hand.

@LordOfLight Napoleon remained a master of combined arms as they existed at the time. I think his ultimate downfall was relying on pillage to fuel his armies. When the Russians went scorched-Earth, and the Spaniards went full-on guerrilla, war got expensive, and he lost entire armies in the retreat from Moscow. He won everything in sight and lost it all on that misadventure. What does it say about people that they supported Bonaparte for so long?
