Toyota TRD double cab went for about $40,000 in 2012. Going up to $50,000 in 2025 is not that big. It's big, because inflation is always with us, but it's not that big.
I thought I heard you say "$65,000" but then I thought I heard you say "50,000." Either way, the benchmark for a fully-equipped Tacoma TRD in 2012 is about $40,000.
When I say "fully equipped," I mean it had 400-Watt, 110-V AC plug-in in the right rear fender well. It came with an automatic transmission cooler (essential if you're going to tow with an automatic, and pretty much standard in 2012 for the Tacoma). I got the backup camera but I think I opted out of the GPS navigation option. It also came with 7-pin connector all ready to hook up to any trailer.
I opted for using the navigation on my smartphone, like my nephew did, but it burned up my phone, working way too hard to talk to the satellite.
