The kernel of truth in BLM is that the War on Drugs has created a gangster culture and a deep-seated antipathy for law enforcement, which is using the inevitable violence associated with drug gangs as an excuse to militarize and even federalize law enforcement. They just don't understand that not enforcing the law is not the answer. The answer is to change the law. Nobody wants to talk about legalization, regulation and taxation of narcotics. But we're not going to beat narcotics and bring peace back to the streets with an authoritarian approach. The poorest neighborhoods suffer the most, and letting drug dealers run roughshod over society isn't the answer. They need cops to police violent crime and property crime. They want MORE cops. I think the War on Drugs brings out the worst in people and law enforcement.
