  1. I'm old enough and STEM enough, that a fraction of my professors were Silent-Majority conservatives and little 'l' libertarians, even though I made major forays into English Lit and History. They never talked politics in class, but my geology prof gifted me with a copy of "The Silent Majority," back in the mid-80s, when I graduated in geology. But I'm sure he overheard me arguing with big-government liberals, which abounded then as now, especially on campus. He kept out of it, but Doc was always listening, while we did our labs and argued back and forth, betimes.
