  1. "We don't have enough ammo! We're leaving." Days later: Massive artillery attacks in Bakhmut. Days later: "I guess we're staying." I think the apparent tiff was at least in part to crank up the meat grinder, and it appears that the Ukrainians have obliged, throwing more men and material at Bakhmut, which the Russians appear to be grinding down at little cost beyond the ammo used. What the West appears to not know or be ignoring is that Putin's been preparing for this since 2014 if not before. He's been stockpiling money, arms, and precious metals, running budget surpluses the entire time, while the West has been systematically committing cultural and economic suicide. My biggest fear is the damage our leaders will cause when their economies are in ruins and all they have are armies and weapons to show for it. In what wars do they plan to vitiate even that resource?
