Yes. Western nations are destroying their economies and industrial base on the one hand, but on the other hand, they behave as though they're industrial titans.

@vladimirbrovkin4052 The USA has supported them in their delusion by acting on their behalf. You don't have to be the SuperPower if you have a SuperPower who does everything you want! I think a lot of it flows from American elites wanting to forge a new aristocracy within a system specifically designed to thwart aristocracy! They want to be as sophisticated as the British, and play the Great Game, when really, they should just do and be as George Washington recommended. Mind our business and only fight when we have to, but when we have to, not shilly-shallying!

All it would take is one phone call from the White House. Getting that phone call out of the American Security (so-called) elites is the tricky part. They are convinced they are smarter than anybody else, and everything in their echo chamber confirms this delusion.

Was Poroshenko really that bad? Without outside forces aligned against him, he appeared to be doing at least some of the right things. His two main mistakes were not hating Russia enough to suit the madmen in Washington, DC, and trying (even a little bit) to reduce corruption and bring the oligarchs to heel.

Yes. They made such a big deal out of sending tanks and other armaments. They pushed it through their political process. Then they delivered the support. And that support consisted of a tiny trickle of arms and munitions that nevertheless depleted all their available stockpiles. It's all been much ado about very little, until you factor in the humanitarian and economic cost borne by everyone EXCEPT the public officials who are making these disastrous and frankly pathetic decisions.
