@spiegeltn Two kinds of guys like women who are tough: Strong men who want someone strong enough to call them on their bullshit and weak men who want to be told what to do. I always shied away from submissive women because I knew I would come to despise them, because I could bulldoze them. I saw how my father bulldozed my mother and I knew I had it in me to do the same if I partnered up with too submissive of a woman.

@spiegeltn I get that, but maybe they have a good relationship, and you just miss his being your pal like he was before he partnered up. I'm sure you're closer to the situation than I am, but I have some appreciation for the kind of bond a husband-and-wife team need to have, to make it work.
