@lowersaxon J. Lennon inked those words from the lap of luxury.

@BRANFED One wonders by what criteria the standard for "free press" is measured, because I know for a fact that the USA is very authoritarian and censorious, while pretending not to be. I'm not in a position to judge the functional level of freedom in Russia. I am in a position to know the USA has nothing to brag about in that regard. I've seen too many dissenting voices silenced by whatever means necessary by some kind of media-government BORG that sets itself up as the unquestionable arbiter of truth and freedom. Whatever the state of things in Russia, America's traditional institutions are self-serving and out of touch with the common people.

Yes, and it highlights the fact that America was VERY top-down during the war, and didn't always go with the best, most practical designs. Chassis and track designs came from engineers whom the U.S. Government rejected. T34 was superior to America's Shermans in many respects. I've begun to question the value of main battle tanks in modern warfare. Might not be the most bang for the buck. For the price of one, I could train and equip thousands of men with light, agile, motorized tank-killers.

@PerceivedREALITY999 Pretty much my take. Our media ignore recent history and the rot that set in in the West when the Soviet Union ended.

I don't take anybody's word as gospel, but this channel gives more - and usually more sensible - perspectives than MSM. You do have one pie in the face, dismissing the warnings before the SMO, scoffing at the warnings, right before hostilities ensued. I think you were caught a little flat-footed.

@JosephBisio I wonder how totalitarian Russia would be if the West didn't go insane every hundred years or so an start a war of aggression.
