@darialexn Actually, Russian gov't has done a better job living within its means than the U.S. gov't. Much of Russia's inflation is external-sanctions related. America can keep inflation down by buying cheap goods from abroad, but its production base is really struggling, and its federal debt is greater than its gross domestic product. Both nations would be better off if they ceased meddling in the affairs of others. Of the two, the U.S. is guilty of far more meddling, although neither nation is without sin.

"The empire that dare not name itself," where they let you think you remain in control of your property and destiny, but the companies you buy everything from follow (and help write) the the government's edicts. "We don't want to own Romania, exactly, as long as we own their leaders and they do what we want them to do. But they're totally a free country."

@duellingscarguevara Yeah. I tried to donate to the local food bank, only to learn that it's regional. I want to help my local community. I don't have anything against other communities, but charity starts at home, and - honestly - I don't want all my donations being sucked up by some big, corrupt blue city.

Trump will get a deal done. He'll ask for the world and settle for something fair, because he knows how to negotiate. You can't really predict what his bottom-dollar deal is with Putin until he actually sits down with Putin, and the world is shocked that a fair and realistic deal is struck. And if goes neocon on us once he's in office, like every other president, he'll lose half of his base and face a Democrat-controlled Congress after the midterm elections.

When I hear people talking about the sorry state of the Russian war economy, they do so without any sense of irony or self-awareness.

@Ged-v8i Par for the course. FEMA spent all its money on immigrants and other stuff. The well is dry. Democrats spent the funds like they spent their campaign funds. Spent way more and got way less.
