These "boss babes" are probably unhappy. It's really hard to be a Type A "executive" type and be happy. What women don't realize or choose to forget is that "top executives" lead pretty miserable lives.

What people don't realize about the traditional roles is that they actually empowered the women in innumerable ways. I think they forgot that all those alpha men were sacrificing to please their wives. Men have always bent to the will of the women they love. Women used to understand this, and controlled their men by (basically) pretending to submit to them, but subtly planting ideas in their heads and then congratulating their men for their cleverness and nobility. The more extreme the patriarchy seems, the more control the women usually have. Trying to compete with men on men's terms is ultimately degrading to women and creates more lonely, unhappy women.
