  1. Removing that option just made this winter a lot colder across all of Europe. This will put extreme pressure on Euro governments to change their policies or lose office. It may already be too late for many of them. This winter might've put them over the edge, with or without sanctioning their own life blood. But a lot of people need to wake up and smell the coffee. Things we take for granted require abundant, affordable energy. Should we do things smarter/cleaner? You bet! Things are already trending that way. If anything, the government retards new developments, with new inventions that don't have a checkbox for the bureaucrats, yet. Or there's a rule against something for bogus reasons that make politicians and bureaucrats happy. They're trying to make the world foolproof, and strangling everyone who's not a fool.
