  2. That seemed to be a little injected drama, to me, because when he said that, the trees in the background still had all their leaves. Maybe they were worried about time because they're only able to do this on weekends, but that piece of it didn't ring true, to me, although I imagine mixing the cobb wouldn't be very much fun if it's down in the 30s or 40s.

  3. Maybe 18 inches wasn't on accident or by mistake. The thicker you make the hearth, the longer it'll put off heat after the fire dies down. I think there's at least a chance that it seemed impractical to follow the instructions because you're not thinking that way. Smaller, hotter fires may've been the goal, with as much trapped heat as possible. I'm not near as crafty as y'all, which makes it really easy 4 me to be critical. I'd fail from the first notched pole to the last.

  5.  @ststst981  Yes. And they inject a lot of unnecessary drama, because that's what the losers who watch reality t.v. want to see. They want soap opera. These guys are all having a good time, outdoors.
