  2. Nah. If not for social media, we'd all still be asleep, taking the daily newspaper and t.v. news as gospel, like we did for decades. Social media's toxicity was brought out by challenges to The Message that were successfully suppressed for many years. You're just seeing the ugly, and think things are worse, when you're actually only seeing how bad things have been for a very long time. Yes, the lengths to which media will go to crush dissent are unprecedented, but you're only seeing THAT because these liars are freaking out at being challenged like never before. The mask is slipping in a big way. But legacy media and Big Tech social media have always been like this. It was just harder to see because it was better hidden. Now you've got Glenn Greenwald and others with significant platforms challenging the narrative, and they HATE it.
