  1. I don't believe in this "living wage" stuff. It's feel-good policy that doesn't really help the people at the bottom who are affected. It's like the actors winning the strike in Hollywood, but then half of them being unemployed, because the industry's dying back. "Yes. We guarantee we will hire 9 writers for every project from now on." "Great! Sign me up for the next project!" "We don't do projects, any more. Sorry." It's the same with "living wage" or "minimum wage" legislation. What drives up wages is prosperity. You start running into labor shortages and employers have to compete with one another for good workers.
