  1. We're ruled by "expert intellectuals" who can't tie their own shoes. Their word is taken as gospel. Bunch of ivory-tower bullshit. I'm a HUGE Thomas Sowell fan on this point. His point is on the economic/social side, but it's true throughout all policy at the federal level. If it's not some out-of-touch egghead, it's some very focused and self-interested representative of weapons manufacturer or Monsanto or some other big corporation. Afghanistan and Vietnam pretty much the same (kinds of) people wrapping stupidity in fancy words and mental gymnastics, and if you question what they're doing, well, that just means you're not smart enough to weigh in.
